Here I am
Opening my wings at the top of the world again
I'm alone
But I have my hat, my bed, my boots, my hopes, my voice,
And my pen
I move
Like the smoke moves in the morning sun
Like the steam rises hot escaping from my cup of tea
Gaining snaky momentum
Like the mountain spring
Traveling the valleys to the sea
I'm me
And that's the way it's gotta be
Aphrodite, they're forming
A heart-shaped cavern
Behind me
But this time I'm praying
For a new pair of boots
Instead of some body
To ride beside me
Because love has been like an avalanche
I thought I had a chance
To connect
But I'm nothing
Just a tiny life
Lost in earth and ice
On the mountainside
Digging myself free
But I'm free
And that's the way I wanna be
So I'm watching walking watching flying
Watching walking riding
Drinking in everything you do
Noticing the ways the whys the hows the hearts
The bravery within all of you
Honestly it's the only way for me to keep my hope
Learn the tricks of life from you who figured it out
Not to give up trying

You who are lost with me now
Smiling when the sun touches you and surviving
Anyhow
