THE  PTEROGALLERY

The idea of what a pterodactyl
may look like requires a leap
into the imagination.  The final
true-life pterosaurs are believed
to have been wiped out at the
end of the Cretaceous Period,
sixty something million years
before the
Homo genus appears
in the fossil record.

For most of us, the image of a
flying pterolizard comes from a
combination of popular culture
and random exposure to
paleontology in school or
television.  Nevertheless, if you
close your eyes, can you
imagine a pterodactyl?

I encourage viewers to create
an image of what the
pterodactyl in their own
imagination may look like.  If
you would like your image
included in the Pterogallery,
please send a copy to
pterobones@gmail.com .
